lital lev cohen, φ32, at tempo rubato gallery

by Guy Yanai | 31.10.13

Opening tonight, Thursday October 31, at Tempo Rubato Gallery (9 Sgula Street, Tel Aviv), Lital Lev Cohen’s first solo show with Gullaume Rouchon’s exquisite and precise gallery.

Following Lev Cohen’s solo show “Distillation Unknown”, which, through the medium of Painting, grappled with the idea of inventing symbolic device-like objects that allude to the human as processed and embellished vessels, containing a somewhat dysfunctional inner purification system, φ32, presents an attempt to rid oneself of pathos and grandiosity in terms of concept and medium, by presenting a series of intimate works on black paper that reflect on an ADD-drenched, Internet-dominated, fast paced day-to-day reality, through formalistic configurations that engage in discourse with the history of  Abstract and Minimal Painting as will as Dadaist and Photographic sensibilities.

Sexual, quiet, refined, geometric, these framed works on paper are poetic and musical.
Looking forward to this opening tonight.
